Weight Loss

A year ago, in October of 2012, I attended the charity event I Survived Real Estate 2012. Theresa, Kyle, Tiffany and I have been attending this event for several years and we enjoy taking some photos while we are all dressed in our fancy clothes. The photo above is our "company photo" and as you can see, I look like Guido the Calculator Guy. However, 12 months and 53 lbs later, we recreated the photo. I have a neck! Also, the zoot suit jackets are not the same! Two years ago, I had to buy a larger zoot suit jacket because my original one was too small as I gained weight.

The summer has been tough for my weight loss progress, but I carry on!

For those who don't know, I do a bunch of Geek work for the US Open of Surfing. I did the development work for the usopenofsurfing.com website (a professional graphic artist created the artwork, but I developed the functionality), but I also worked with my best friend, Kyle, to produce a social-networking Photo Booth game for the on-beach event which run on a series of iOS devices. I made it down to 206 lbs during the month, but then the US Open of Surfing hit and I really couldn't control my food intake...

Part-way through the month I managed to make it down to 50 lbs lost, but I've fluctuated a bunch and at the moment I'm at 49 lbs lost! :) I'll make it past this point though, I will carry on! My current goal is to lose 62 lbs which would bring me down to 200 lbs, although I'll like celebrate at 199 lbs because of the symbolic fun of changing the hundreds digit. 

It's that time again! My weigh-in this morning was 216 lbs, which brings me to 46 pounds lost!

I've had some really good moments this month, I was able to spend some time with friends I hadn't seen in awhile! It was especially nice when they would first see me and be visibly taken aback. I got several "Wow" responses, which is very nice for the ego. :) 

Wait, what? I'm excited about being overweight?

Not really... it's just that my BMI measurement has transitioned from Obese to Overweight! :) 

My weigh-in this morning brings me to the 40 lbs lost mark! (39.8, but close enough.)

Everyone has been so supportive and helpful and I really appreciate all of the love! Several other people have hooked up on MyFitnessPal and have been doing really well! Tim has been kicking a great deal of ass well, so make sure to show Tim some love!

The weight loss continues! I will not be stopped! RAWR!

I did some extra measurements this morning to go along with my monthly photos. My belly is 46.5" around currently, so I checked my first measurements that I did for Insanity and I started at 50.5"! I've lost 4 inches around my belly. :)

While weight fluctuates from day to day, so I may pass this boundary a couple of times in the next week... today marks the loss of a marathon! 

I've lost 26.2 pounds! Not only is it a marathon, it also marks the loss of 10% of my entire body weight. When I started my diet and exercise regimine I weighed 262 pounds, so 26.2 pounds is a full 10%!


I took a "before" photo when I started doing the Insanity workout. My joints weren't able to survive Insanity, but I've been rollerblading and biking every day as well as counting calories. I decided to keep taking photos at the beginning of each month to see if I could watch a change happening in my body. I've lost more than 20 lbs so far (crazy), but the changes are still subtle.
